My poems have been featured in the book “A Girl Like Lilac” by Victoria L James.

I am honoured to announce that some of my poems have been featured is this spectacular book, ‘A Girl Like Lilac’ by the very talented Victoria L James.

I’ve been a huge fan of Victoria and watched her writing grow from strength to strength  over the last few years and I’m now fortunate enough to be able to call her a friend. I cannot wait for everyone to read this story . I’m very proud of the poems she chose to use and hopefully they add to the story, but more importantly, they mean so much to Toby and Lilac. 🌷🎼✒️

A Girl Like Lilac, by Victoria L. James
Genre: Mature YA/NA crossover
Angst-level: Medium/High
Love-level: A first love romance like no other.

Blurb

The first time Toby Hunter got arrested for defending Lilac Clarke’s honour, he was only fifteen years old, but he’d loved her from behind his black-rimmed glasses for as long as he could remember.

With a desperate need to protect her from a distance, one arrest turned to two, two soon turning into three, and before Toby knew what was happening, the sleepy village of Southwold was turning against him for daring to stand up for a girl like Lilac.

Beautiful Lilac with her flowers in her hair, her camera in her hands, and her sweet, pink, sugary-lipped kisses.

They could hate him for loving her all they wanted. Toby was a boy who did what was right, not what was easy, and he was always going to grow to be the man willing to give her what she deserved.

Even if that meant losing Lilac forever.

“Alright geezer?”

Bit of a somber one  A lad who works for me tried to take his own life this week. Been on my mind…

Alright Geezer

“Alright geezer?”
As he tries to fit in
All the time hiding
The torment within.

Hours of banter
The air filled will jokes
His true soul hidden
Behind mirrors & smoke.

Black mist contrasting
The light hearted word
That spills from his lips
That tight unyielding cord.

His mind lay twisted
Confused and dark
The Tears of a clown
Masking the scars.

With Liqueur flowing
Pills slip with ease
To take him away
Escape tormented disease.

Sunrise conscious
Heavy hazy eyes
Reaching out to find
Family by his side.

No longer equipped
To cloak his thoughts
The closest to him
Offering love & support.

Recovery journey
Demons laid bare
Understanding the pain
Attention and care.

Tide of Confidence

Tide of Confidence

Today’s low tide, The sea subsides,
Confidence drained from within.
The Fickle hand, Of yesterday’s plan,
Laid bare as a coastline sin.

The waves return, With a fire that burns,
Determined to not fall shy.
But the struggle inside, Leaves revolving tides,
Unable to reach past lines.

Sporadic storms, As the mind takes form,
Persistence and strength attained,
Filling the heart, for tomorrow’s fresh start,
Fearless Tsunami now on its way.

Unobtainable Pride, Boundaries subside,
Waves bearing down on dry land.
A positive surge, Souls ultimate urge
Transform cliffs to submissive sand.

Pound after pound, heavy waves crash down,
Distant time of forgotten trials.
Confidence oozing, each surge the land losing.
To the might of the confidence charms

Unrecognisable coastline, fear in decline,
Spent lines drowned in surging seas.
Cocooned inner strength, eyes look upon the length
Of the newly formed Butterfly wings.

Holding on

Holding on
Tips of fingers
Keep at bay
Darkness lingers

Minds Hurricane winds
Teasing to fall
Fragile hearts
Broken soul

Silent stance
Taken its toll
Grip so loose
Drained control

Strength regressed
Abyss too close
Pull the edge
With broken bones

Freedom falls
Peace attained
Release the Demons
Make me sane

A.Stone

Numb

Numb

Numb to touch
Some worthless love
With Tainted heart
And Aggressive fuck.

Body broken
Soul long lost
To hardened cocks
Loves cool frost.

Stigma stains
With blood red hands
Paid with green
Ripped at pants.

Someone’s daughter
The future lost
Bedtime stories
Exchanged souls cost.
